2021 brought exciting changes for I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR when Keitumetse Lekaba was appointed as its Head of Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD). It is an honour to further announce that she has now been appointed as the Managing Director of the company, effective 01 June 2021.
“We have seen our Enterprise and Supplier development offering bolstered since Keitumetse joined our company in January. The move to MD was inevitable. She has brought a tremendous amount of experience to help us continue building programmes that are credible, measurable, sustainable and, most importantly, impactful,” said I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR FOUNDER, Andile Khumalo.
I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR is the apex platform in supporting entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses. As we continue growing, we aim to cement this position as a preferred partner for multinationals who want to impact meaningful growth and improvement in the SMEs in and out their value chain.
"We focus our development of entrepreneurs on imparting critical business skills that enable the small business owners, with the ability to manage, lead and build their businesses well and then steadily and successfully scale them,” says Andile Khumalo.
“No one understands that more than our incoming MD,” he added. Speaking on her new appointment, Lekaba says it is a privilege growing with the I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR team and the entrepreneurs they impact through their various ESD programmes and the monthly digital summits.
“The appointment came sooner than expected but I am however excited for the journey ahead. I’m honoured that Andile has entrusted me to take over this position, we all know it’s often hard for entrepreneurs to let go of managing what they started. I have big shoes to fill, and I am ready to lead I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR into this new chapter,” she says.
“For my appointment to also fall in the month that we commemorate Youth in our country is very meaningful for me. So often leaders speak about empowering the youth, but it’s just talk. To have the ropes handed over to me to lead this inspiring organisation as Managing Director is what it truly means to allow young people to shape the narrative and play an active role in shaping our country's future,” says Keitumetse.
